Issued in 1960, this Australian Five Pound banknote forms part of the Coombs & Roland series, representing the final years of Australia’s pre-decimal currency system before the transition to decimalisation in 1966.

This example features the R50 prefix and presents in Extremely Fine condition. As shown in the photos, the note displays very light handling, with minor folds visible on close inspection, while retaining strong paper integrity. The colours remain clear, the print is crisp, and all design elements, signatures, and serial numbers are sharp and well-defined.

Higher-condition Five Pound notes from the later pre-decimal period are increasingly sought after, particularly as well-preserved examples become harder to source.
